Create a logo and visual identity for Fotogalleri Vasli Souza. A gallery dedicated to Contemporary Photography, presenting artists from across the globe.
Project Description
My role
I was the co-founder of the gallery and I was responsible for the Marketing and Communication. I had created the logo, website, posters, catalogues, digital advertising, etc.
Concept
The logo is very simple and inspired by the shape of the map of Brazil, where the Souza comes from, and Norway where Vasli comes from. The idea is to promote the diversity of cultures.
Colours
The gallery is a platform to promote other artists, so its own identity is very subtle, to make sure that it doesn’t overshadow the artworks. I chose to adopt the black and white identity, which is commonly used crossed other galleries.
Typeface
The Klavika Family was chosen due to its blend of oblique strokes and round shapes, which are important components when building maps.
The font has a sense of a modern and digital type machine, bringing references to the old and the new in arts.
Web design
The website is simple and it is presented in two versions, dark and light, dragging its attention to the images.
